Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Erie Police Department recently returned the items they took for fingerprinting after our October church burglary. They were able to lift some usable prints which will be helpful in identifying the individuals who perpetrated this incident. I’m grateful to State and Erie Police who responded so quickly the evening that it happened and to the city detectives who followed through on the case.

Recently, I asked for the names of our parishioners who were on the dean’s list at their respective school for the first semester. I’ve received the following names: Alyssa Goodwine, Clarion University; Haley Wochner, Duquesne University; Dominic DiRaimo, University of South Florida; Daniel Fromknecht, Case Western University; Patrick Murawski; University of Pittsburgh; Sara Benczkowski, Daemen College; Lindsay Cox, Mercyhurst College; Ryan Astemborski, Edinboro University Adam Malinowski, Cleveland State University; and Julie Malinowski, Daemen College.

A note of gratitude goes out to the Chapter 435 of the Vietnam Veterans of America for their donation to our parish food pantry. We currently have about 25 families who receive food from us twice a month. The gift will be put to very good use!

Just a reminder, Deacon Chuck hosts a Bible Study group on Tuesday evenings in the Mothers’ Chapel. If you are interested, you can call him at 323-5738 for further information.

The Monthly Sunday Breakfast will take place this weekend after the 7, 8:30, and 10:00 o’clock Masses. To accommodate the card party, next month’s breakfast will be held on March 11th.

Please do your best to help make this year’s Catholic Services Appeal the most successful that our parish has ever had. Commitment Sunday is February 19th. Every dollar raised above that total will be remain here to help defray the cost of electronic sign for the parish and for our ongoing maintenance projects . Every gift - no matter the size - will be greatly appreciated and judiciously used. PLEASE help us if you are able.

High School CCD and Confirmation Classes will resume next Sunday at 6:00 o’clock at the school.
